This is the 23rd (and final) entry from my draft manuscript, working title: Spring in the Cottage Garden.
Tomorrow is officially the last day of spring, and the weather has been predictably unpredictable: rain, sun, wind, hail, and even snow inland of us last week. I was out in the garden after work the other day and had to take my jumper off because it was so warm and sunny, but off in the distance I could hear rumbling roars of thunder rippling towards me. It was really quite surreal.
While I deplore the changing of the clock for daylight savings, I admit that it is quite helpful at this time of year. It’s such a luxury to have so much time in the garden! During winter it was pointless to go out any time after three in the afternoon, with the long shadows from the sun sitting so low in the sky, and sunset in the early hours of the evening. Now even at five or six I can go outside and get a few hours of work done.
