I’ve been sleeping in a lot lately, but I managed to get up earlier this morning and take stock of the garden in the post-sunrise glow.
Despite the snow last week this light is telling me that we are will into spring. The warm light of golden hour, which lasts almost til midday in Autumn and Winter, is replaced with a cooler hue; the soft contrast of a sun that’s low in the sky replaced with harsh reflections and shadows. I’d like to invest in a diffuser/reflector set because I love being out on sunny days but the ‘contrasty’ light doesn’t do my photography any favours. I’m not sure how much I’ll end up using it but I still think it would be a good investment; I hardly ever take my tripod out but I am grateful to have it for those times when it is needed!
