For the most part, things are now in their place: the flowering border, the mÄra kai(vegetable patch), the cottage garden, the miniature native forest, the woodland glade, the orchard meadow, and the steadily reducing lawn area. Bit by bit we are refining each space and getting it closer and closer to what we want it to be (and naturally, we are also refining what we want it to be). Iām also working on a few spots in the garden with specific, human-centric purposes ā often spots I didnāt realise were perfect until I spent more time in the garden. As I write, Iām sitting in my writing spot down the back of the garden, though I have tried naming two different areas my āwriting spotā before I settled on this one. It gets sun in the afternoon, which is when I tend to write, it feels reasonably private and quiet, and I have a gorgeous view of theā¦
