Kia ora e hoa - hello my friend☀
As we come into the new year, a lot of us tend to reflect on what has been & dream of what may come. As my health begins to recover, I am looking forward to more mahi in the garden (which is currently a bit wild, though the birds and bees don’t seem to mind!) and also making more time for art.
In 2025, you’ll get two newsletters from me: one at the end of each month with a specific nature focus, and a personal letter during the month aimed at paid subscribers. I’m also hoping to have an audio recording of each post so you can listen along, especially for those of you unfamiliar with te reo Māori.
I’ve reduced the subscription plans to $5/month and $40/year to reflect the slower publishing schedule.
I hope you have all had, on balance, a good year. There are always up and downs, but I feel encouraged when I see life in the garden and know that I have helped it along. From my studio window, I’ve watched a couple of young pīwakawaka (fantails) in the kōwhai tree over the last few weeks, and often see admiral butterflies flutter past. I know it’s only little steps, but little steps do add up - especially if we are all taking them together.
